“FRIEND”

Is it simply someone who is nice to you that you see more than just at work/school?
It may sound stupid, but i know lots of people who apply the term "friend" very differently.

The only non-family member who comes to you when you really need help. Oh there are the ones you hang out with and be with and that's cool but the one that shows up at a time of need THAT'S a true friend. A person you know well and regard with affection and trust; "he was my best friend at the university", someone who's got your back, who you can trust, and can trust you, who knows you inside, out, who supports you , known’s what will get you smiling again, keeps you out of trouble or gets in trouble with you, friend. One you enjoy companionship with. One you can confide in. One that you can trust. One that is there for you always. They lift you up when you are down. They tell you things that you DON'T want to hear that will help you be a better person.
